It was a tremendous honor to welcome so many of you to our recent Spring Leadership Meeting and Legislative Day Crawfish Boil. With record-breaking attendance, your presence and participation affirmed the strength and unity of our association as we work toward fulfilling our shared mission.
During our time together, we made significant strides. Our committees worked diligently to advance the goals outlined in the Strategic Plan adopted by the Board this January, aligning our efforts to ensure LHBA remains the state-wide authority on housing-related issues.
We engaged in lively and meaningful discussion around legislative proposals—evaluating their potential impacts, both positive and negative, on our industry. This kind of collaboration underscores the importance of our collective voice in shaping housing policy across Louisiana.
We also renewed our commitment to education and workforce development, recognizing that the future of our industry depends on equipping current and future leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. Our resolve to provide relevant, high-quality educational opportunities and to identify new pathways for industry growth has never been stronger.
We were especially honored to be joined by Governor Jeff Landry, who addressed critical issues including rising insurance premiums, economic development, housing, and the business climate in Louisiana. It was a powerful moment of recognition when LHBA's Senior Officers were introduced in both the House and Senate chambers—a clear indication of the respect and visibility our association commands.
Of course, no Legislative Day would be complete without our signature Crawfish Boil, which once again proved to be a tremendous success. It provided a relaxed but meaningful forum for members to network with one another and engage directly with elected officials about the issues that matter most.
On behalf of the LHBA Board of Directors, I extend my sincere thanks to every member, director, sponsor, and official who contributed to the success of our Spring Leadership Meeting. It is a privilege to serve more than 4,500 members who are as passionate about housing as I am. Together, we are shaping a stronger, smarter future for Louisiana.
We look forward to continuing our work—with you and for you—as we strive to meet Louisiana's growing housing needs.
Warm regards,
Kyle Cooper
